Earlier this month, the County FA welcomed a number of volunteers and their guests to the County FA headquarters for a special presentation evening.

The West Riding FA recognizes the tremendous work done by volunteers in the grass roots game and decided to make special awards to those who had been nominated by their respective District Associations.

Those who had given over 15 years and over 25 years service received special certificates whilst those with service in excess of 30 and 40 years were presented with special mementoes.

The presentations were made by the President of the County FA, Peter Marsden, who stated that he was pleased to see so many in attendance who had, in some cases, travelled long distances in the adverse weather conditions to be present. This, in itself, showed the commitment and dedication which the County FA was now recognizing.

He went on to say that it was expected that this would become an annual event and that, in future, he anticipated that more of the people who are vital to the game would receive due recognition.

The evening concluded with a buffet supper and the draws for the semi-finals of the County Cup Competitions which were broadcast live on BBC Radio Leeds.
