Albion lose on penalties in 3-3 Cup Thriller

Albion lose 5-4 on penalties after 3-3 draw in normal time. Sports started brightly racing to a 2-0 lead with goals from Alhassane Keita and Christian Soda. A controversial moment midway through the first half changed the outlook of the match. The Goole keeper rushed out to a header back from his defender and made a diving save with his hands but unfortunately for him he was five yards  outside the box!! (Automatic Red Card).

The referee somehow deemed it to be only a Yellow??? This decision  spurred Goole into action and they pulled two goals back before half time.

Goole started brightly in the second half then had a man sent off for a rash challenge. This again spurred Goole into action and they took the lead shortly after to put them 3-2 up. An inspired substitution by Albion manager Kully Sandhu brought on veteran stalwart Asif Hussain who rolled back the years with an exquisite free kick into the bottom corner of the home teams net. Asif nearly won the match for the away team with the exact same free kick 5 minutes later however the keeper got a hand onto the ball and pushed it onto the post.

Albion pushed late on taking advantage of their numeric advantage and should have won it late on when Josh Mckiernan was through on goal but the home keeper saved to take the game to penalties. The rest is history.
